Made in Italy

Every 2G Engineering component is created in our laboratory in Soliera (Modena), the heart of the Italian Motor Valley. We design each piece for your model, test the fit and inspect every single piece before shipping.

We use professional 3D printing with carbon-fiber-filled PPA, chosen for heat resistance and long-term structural rigidity — not generic mass-produced plastics.

In short

  • What it is: the 2G Engineering enlarged intake duct that replaces the stock snorkel, with a dry polyester sport air filter, for Ducati Multistrada V4, V4 S and V4 Pikes Peak new generation, from 2025.
  • What it fixes: snatchy throttle response, jerkiness in slow corners and weak midrange pull.
  • Result: more midrange torque and smoother power delivery, with the stock ECU.
  • Plug & Play and reversible: it fits the stock airbox with no cutting or drilling on the bike, and you can go back to stock whenever you like.

⚠️ FOR RACE USE ONLY

This product is intended exclusively for competition use on closed circuits. It is not approved for road use: use on public roads is not permitted.

The 1158 cc V4 Granturismo is a hugely powerful engine, but on the road the stock Multistrada V4 has a few weak spots that many owners know well: snatchy throttle response at low speed, jerks when you get back on the gas mid-corner, revs that struggle to stay steady at part throttle, and midrange pull that feels less full than you would expect, right where you ride most on mountain passes, B-roads and two-up touring.

A big part of the problem is how air gets in. The stock snorkel, the duct that feeds air to the airbox, does not wrap around the steering head but runs alongside it to clear it, and in doing so it drastically narrows the air flow area right where air should flow freely. The snorkel also carries the air temperature sensor, which the ECU uses to decide how much fuel to inject.

Why changing just the air filter is not enough

Many Ducati riders start by fitting a sport air filter for the Multistrada V4. The problem is that the filter works behind the same stock snorkel: if air can't reach the filter, a more free-flowing filter changes very little. It's like having a marathon runner's lungs and breathing through a straw.

The solution: 2G Engineering Intake Kit for Multistrada V4

The kit replaces the factory snorkel with two half-shells that bolt together into a new smooth-flow duct with a much larger air flow area: no more bottleneck beside the steering head, air reaches the whole filter surface freely. The air temperature sensor mount is retained, just like on the stock part. The box also includes the 2G Engineering high-flow dry polyester air filter: a complete intake system, designed to work with the stock ECU. Every kit is designed and made in Soliera (Modena), in the heart of the Motor Valley, from carbon-fibre-reinforced PPA.

What changes on the road

  • More midrange torque: more pull right in the rev range you use most on the road.
  • Much smoother power delivery: throttle response becomes progressive and predictable, even in traffic and slow corners.
  • Intake sound: deeper and fuller, especially from the midrange up.
  • Minimal maintenance: the filter is dry and needs no oil: just clean it with a blast of compressed air.

We haven't published the Multistrada V4 dyno chart yet: we'll add it to this page as soon as it's ready.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to remap the ECU?

No, with the stock exhaust or with aftermarket exhausts that keep the catalytic converter. With a decat race exhaust you need a dedicated map anyway, as with any exhaust of that kind.

What happens to the stock air temperature sensor?

You remove it from the stock snorkel and refit it in the dedicated mount on our duct. If you also want richer fuelling, there is a kit version with the TempShift -10 sensor.

Is a sport air filter alone enough to improve power delivery?

Usually not. The bottleneck is how air gets in through the stock snorkel: a more free-flowing filter behind the same restriction changes very little. Our kit opens up the air path and already includes a sport filter.

Is it better to change the exhaust or the intake?

They do different jobs: the intake works on how much air gets into the engine, the exhaust on how the gases get out. Our kit is designed to deliver results with the stock exhaust and costs a fraction of a full exhaust system.

Does it fit all Multistrada V4 versions?

This version is for the Multistrada V4, V4 S and V4 Pikes Peak new generation, from 2025. For the Multistrada V4 from 2021 to 2024 there is a dedicated version. Not compatible with the Multistrada V2, 950 and 1260.

Can I put the bike back to stock?

Yes. Nothing on the bike is cut or drilled: refit the stock snorkel with its sensor and the bike is exactly as it was.

How long does installation take?

About 45 minutes, with a basic home toolkit.

How do I clean the filter?

The filter is dry polyester and must not be oiled: clean it with a blast of compressed air against the direction of the intake flow.

How long does shipping take?

All kits are in stock and ship within 24 hours, worldwide. You have 15 days from delivery to return the product if you're not happy with it.

“Sharp throttle response and more torque throughout the rev range”

Installed the racing intake from 2G Engineering on my 950 SP and been sampling most of the weekend – impressed 👍 Sharp throttle response and a noticeable increase in torque throughout the rev range. Already have a Deussen tune from Deussen Engines and the Sprint P08 filter with SC cans. […] Totally recommend for a performance upgrade bolt-on. Gioele at 2G seems a straight up guy, friendly and knowledgeable and doesn't charge the earth. Had mine in 4 days from Italy to the UK with UPS.

“The bike should leave the factory like this”

Positive feedback for 2G Engineering and Gioele Goldoni: the part is developed and optimised as a real improvement over the meagre original airbox cover.
– Fuel consumption: a noticeable improvement with the same riding, since the engine pulls harder.
– The flat spot from about 3000 to 5500 rpm at full load is greatly improved.
– Engine sound and top-end pull are definitely better.
– The jerky throttle response when opening and closing is almost gone; the transition at small throttle openings is much smoother.
– Installation couldn't be easier, with no changes to the airbox or the engine ECU (obviously the lambda sensors must stay connected).
Basically the bike should leave the factory like this, so the kit is highly recommended!

– Suono motore e allungo decisamente migliori.

“If you're on the fence, this intake is legit”

My bike already had a Deussen Engines tune […]. Made the bike run a lot smoother. This intake made an INSANE difference in how smooth the Hyper is down low. Zero chugging, smoothest it's ever ran. Install video coming soon. If you're on the fence, I'm telling you this intake is legit.

The mid-range torque feels noticeably stronger too, and the intake sound has a much deeper, aggressive growl under hard acceleration. It is a fantastic bolt-on upgrade if you want to fix the stock fueling issues and let the engine breathe properly without having to remap the ECU. Highly recommended!

Bought this intake kit after hearing great things about 2G Engineering, and it didn't disappoint. The carbon-fiber-reinforced cover is extremely solid, incredibly well-made, and fits perfectly onto the stock airbox—truly plug and play with zero modifications needed. It took me less than an hour to install everything.
