2. What data we process

  • Browsing data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, date and time of the request. They are collected automatically by the systems that run the website.
  • Order and billing data: first and last name, shipping and billing address, email, phone, company name, VAT number or tax code if applicable, products purchased, amounts and order history.
  • Payment data: card or account details are entered directly on the systems of the payment providers (Stripe/WooPayments, PayPal, Klarna, Google Pay, Apple Pay). We never see or store the full card number: we only receive the payment outcome and a few transaction identifiers.
  • Incomplete cart data: if you enter your email at checkout but do not complete the order, we keep your email, your name if provided and the contents of the cart (see section 3.f).
  • Data you share when you contact us: by email, phone, WhatsApp or through our social media profiles (name, contact details, message content, any photos of the product or motorcycle).
  • Comments: if you comment on a blog post, your name, email, website if provided, IP address and the text of the comment.
  • Reviews: if you review a product you bought, your name, rating, text and any photos.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: described in the Cookie Policy.

We do not ask for or process special categories of data (health, political opinions, etc.). Please do not send them to us in your messages.

3. Why we process data and on what legal basis

  • a) Managing orders, payments, shipping, returns, warranty and support – legal basis: performance of the contract or of pre-contractual steps you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • b) Issuing invoices and meeting tax and accounting obligations – legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
  • c) Answering requests for information, quotes and technical support – legal basis: pre-contractual steps at your request or our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • d) Keeping the website and payments secure, preventing fraud and spam – legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • e) Asking you, after a purchase, to review the product – legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time, free of charge, also via the link in the email.
  • f) Sending you a reminder if you leave an order unfinished – when you enter your email at checkout we inform you with a notice and you can refuse straight away by clicking “No thanks”; in that case you will not receive any reminder. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in completing the order you started (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can also object at any time via the link in the email. Incomplete cart data is considered lost after 30 days.
  • g) Visit statistics and personalised advertising (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel) and loading of YouTube videos – legal basis: your consent, given through the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code). You can withdraw it at any time via the “Manage consent” link.
  • h) Publishing comments and reviews – legal basis: your consent, given by submitting the content (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • i) Defending our rights in case of disputes – legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects concerning you.

4. Do you have to provide your data?

The data requested at checkout are necessary to conclude and deliver the order and to issue the invoice: without them we cannot complete the purchase. All other data are optional; non-technical cookies are only activated if you consent.

5. Who we share data with

Data are processed by us and, only as far as strictly necessary, by providers acting as data processors (Art. 28 GDPR) or as independent controllers:

  • Hosting, platform and website security: Automattic Inc. (WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Jetpack, Akismet anti-spam).
  • Payments: Stripe (via WooPayments), PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., Klarna Bank AB, Google (Google Pay), Apple (Apple Pay). They largely act as independent controllers for payment processing and fraud prevention.
  • Shipping: Packlink Shipping S.L. (shipping platform) and the couriers delivering the order (for example BRT S.p.A. and UPS), to whom we pass your name, address, phone and email for delivery.
  • Accountant and advisors, for bookkeeping and tax compliance.
  • Google Ireland Ltd. (Google Analytics, Google Ads, YouTube, Google Merchant Center) and Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (Meta Pixel, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp), only for the cookies you have consented to or if you contact us through their services.
  • Email mailbox provider and the tools we use to send transactional emails.
  • Public authorities, when required by law.

Data are not disclosed to the public or sold to third parties.

6. Transfers of data outside the European Union

Some providers (for example Automattic, Google, Meta, Stripe) may process data in the United States or other non-EU countries. Transfers are based on the European Commission adequacy decision for companies certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the Commission (Articles 45 and 46 GDPR). You can ask us for more information at the contact details above.

7. How long we keep data

  • Orders, invoices and accounting records: 10 years from the date of the last entry, as required by Article 2220 of the Italian Civil Code.
  • Data for warranty and returns: for the duration of the legal guarantee (26 months from delivery) and, in case of a dispute, until it is settled.
  • Contact requests not followed by a purchase: up to 24 months from the last exchange.
  • Incomplete carts: the reminder is only sent in the following days; the cart is considered lost after 30 days.
  • Comments and reviews: as long as they remain published or until you ask for deletion.
  • Cookies: for the duration stated in the Cookie Policy; your banner choice is remembered for 180 days.

8. Your rights

At any time you can request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability of the data you provided, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest (Articles 15–21 GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. To exercise your rights write to gioele.goldoni@duegengineering.com: we will reply within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the authority of the EU country where you live or work.
