In short
- What it is: the 2G Engineering enlarged intake duct that replaces the stock snorkel, with a dry polyester sport air filter, for Ducati Multistrada V4, V4 S and V4 Pikes Peak from 2021 to 2024.
- What it fixes: snatchy throttle response, jerkiness in slow corners and weak midrange pull.
- Result: more midrange torque and smoother power delivery, with the stock ECU.
- Plug & Play and reversible: it fits the stock airbox with no cutting or drilling on the bike, and you can go back to stock whenever you like.

Snatchy throttle and weak midrange on the Multistrada V4: where they come from
The 1158 cc V4 Granturismo is a hugely powerful engine, but on the road the stock Multistrada V4 has a few weak spots that many owners know well: snatchy throttle response at low speed, jerks when you get back on the gas mid-corner, revs that struggle to stay steady at part throttle, and midrange pull that feels less full than you would expect, right where you ride most on mountain passes, B-roads and two-up touring.
A big part of the problem is how air gets in. The stock snorkel, the duct that feeds air to the airbox, does not wrap around the steering head but runs alongside it to clear it, and in doing so it drastically narrows the air flow area right where air should flow freely. The snorkel also carries the air temperature sensor, which the ECU uses to decide how much fuel to inject.
Why changing just the air filter is not enough
Many Ducati riders start by fitting a sport air filter for the Multistrada V4. The problem is that the filter works behind the same stock snorkel: if air can't reach the filter, a more free-flowing filter changes very little. It's like having a marathon runner's lungs and breathing through a straw.
The solution: 2G Engineering Intake Kit for Multistrada V4
The kit replaces the factory snorkel with two half-shells that bolt together into a new smooth-flow duct with a much larger air flow area: no more bottleneck beside the steering head, air reaches the whole filter surface freely. The air temperature sensor mount is retained, just like on the stock part. The box also includes the 2G Engineering high-flow dry polyester air filter: a complete intake system, designed to work with the stock ECU. Every kit is designed and made in Soliera (Modena), in the heart of the Motor Valley, from carbon-fibre-reinforced PPA.
What changes on the road
- More midrange torque: more pull right in the rev range you use most on the road.
- Much smoother power delivery: throttle response becomes progressive and predictable, even in traffic and slow corners.
- Intake sound: deeper and fuller, especially from the midrange up.
- Minimal maintenance: the filter is dry and needs no oil: just clean it with a blast of compressed air.

Which version to choose
| Version | What's included | Who it's for |
|---|---|---|
| Kit with 2G sport air filter and TempShift -10 sensor | Enlarged intake duct + 2G dry polyester filter + TempShift -10 air temperature sensor | Riders who want the complete package, with richer fuelling and no remap |
| Kit with 2G sport air filter (this page) | Enlarged intake duct + 2G dry polyester filter | Riders still running the stock paper filter |
| Enlarged airbox lid only | Enlarged intake duct, filter not included | Riders who already have an aftermarket sport filter or want to reuse their own |
| 2G sport air filter only | 2G dry polyester filter, washable | Coming soon |
Compatibility
Ducati Multistrada V4, V4 S and V4 Pikes Peak, from 2021 to 2024 (1158 cc V4 Granturismo engine). It fits the stock airbox with no modifications and keeps the stock air temperature sensor mount. For the Multistrada V4 new generation (from 2025) there is a dedicated version. Not compatible with the Multistrada V2, 950 and 1260.
Installation
Installation is Plug & Play: the two half-shells bolt together to form the new duct, replacing the stock snorkel. The stock air temperature sensor moves to the dedicated mount on the new duct. Nothing on the bike is cut or drilled, and you can go back to stock at any time. Fitting time: about 45 minutes.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to remap the ECU?
No, with the stock exhaust or with aftermarket exhausts that keep the catalytic converter. With a decat race exhaust you need a dedicated map anyway, as with any exhaust of that kind.
What happens to the stock air temperature sensor?
You remove it from the stock snorkel and refit it in the dedicated mount on our duct. If you also want richer fuelling, there is a kit version with the TempShift -10 sensor.
Is a sport air filter alone enough to improve power delivery?
Usually not. The bottleneck is how air gets in through the stock snorkel: a more free-flowing filter behind the same restriction changes very little. Our kit opens up the air path and already includes a sport filter.
Is it better to change the exhaust or the intake?
They do different jobs: the intake works on how much air gets into the engine, the exhaust on how the gases get out. Our kit is designed to deliver results with the stock exhaust and costs a fraction of a full exhaust system.
Does it fit all Multistrada V4 versions?
This version is for the Multistrada V4, V4 S and V4 Pikes Peak from 2021 to 2024. For the Multistrada V4 new generation (from 2025) there is a dedicated version. Not compatible with the Multistrada V2, 950 and 1260.
Can I put the bike back to stock?
Yes. Nothing on the bike is cut or drilled: refit the stock snorkel with its sensor and the bike is exactly as it was.
How long does installation take?
About 45 minutes, with a basic home toolkit.
How do I clean the filter?
The filter is dry polyester and must not be oiled: clean it with a blast of compressed air against the direction of the intake flow.
How long does shipping take?
All kits are in stock and ship within 24 hours, worldwide. You have 15 days from delivery to return the product if you're not happy with it.
