Why replace the stock paper air filter
The stock SuperSport 950 filter is made of paper: over the miles it clogs, loses permeability and has to be replaced at every service. The 2G Engineering filter is made of polyester fabric: it lets more air through, traps dirt and is cleaned with a blast of compressed air, with no oil. You buy it once and it lasts a lifetime.
What a performance filter can and can't do
A more permeable filter improves airflow, but on the SuperSport 950 the real limit is the stock intake inlet, narrow and very restrictive. If your goal is to fix the mid-range torque gap and the jerky delivery at low revs, pair the filter with the 2G enlarged intake kit: together they make up our complete intake kit, which on the dyno delivered about +5–8 Nm from low revs up to 5,500 rpm and up to +5 HP in the mid-range with no remap (dyno test on a SuperSport 939, same engine and same airbox).
The solution: 2G Engineering polyester air filter
The cylindrical filter has the same dimensions as the original Ducati filter: it fits the stock airbox or the 2G enlarged intake kit with no modifications. It is designed and made in Soliera (Modena), in the heart of the Motor Valley.
What changes
- More airflow: the polyester fabric is more permeable than the stock filter's paper.
- Lasts a lifetime: it's not a service part to replace: just clean it and refit it.
- Minimal maintenance: the filter is dry and needs no oil: just clean it with a blast of compressed air.

Frequently asked questions
Does the racing filter alone fix the mid-range gap?
On its own it makes little difference, because the limit is the stock intake inlet. To get rid of the torque dip and the snatchy throttle, pair it with the 2G enlarged intake kit.
Do I need to remap the ECU?
No. The filter fits in place of the stock one and works with the stock ECU.
How often does it need replacing?
It doesn't need replacing like a paper filter: just clean it with compressed air when it's dirty and refit it.
How do I clean the filter?
The filter is dry polyester and must not be oiled: clean it with a blast of compressed air against the direction of the intake flow.
Can I fit it with the 2G enlarged intake kit?
Yes. The filter has OEM dimensions and fits both the stock airbox and the 2G enlarged intake kit.
