Designed specifically to match the exuberant character of the Testastretta 11° engine, the 2G Engineering sports air filter It is the ideal technical update for your Ducati Hypermotard 821 or 939. If you're looking for even sharper throttle response when exiting hairpin bends and a powerful top-end, this high-performance filter element will provide the airflow you need to let your twin-cylinder breathe like never before.

Advanced Filtration Technology (Zero Oil) Forget the old sponge systems or the classic cotton filters that require continuous and annoying washing with oily kits. The soul of this 2G Engineering filter is made of special polyester fabric. This synthetic matrix works exclusively dry: it offers significantly higher air permeability than original paper filters (OEM), but thanks to its calibrated structure it is able to mechanically block debris and fine dust, keeping the airbox immaculate.

The strengths of the 2G Engineering system:

  • Immediate Reactivity: The increase in the volume of air introduced into the combustion chamber optimizes the stoichiometric ratio, translating into more robust acceleration at medium revs and a decidedly more aggressive intake sound.

  • 60 Second Cleaning: Maintenance is cost-free (and time-consuming). Simply remove the filter and blow it with compressed air from the clean side toward the dirty side. There's no need to wait for it to dry, and no lubricants are needed.

  • Absolute Engine Protection: Unlike cotton, polyester filaments do not lose their shape under stress or vibration, ensuring consistent filtration in all riding conditions.

  • Drop-in Design: Installation is a breeze. The polyurethane rubber surround fits perfectly into the original airbox of the Hypermotard family, without the need to map the ECU for road use (although it is recommended for full exhaust setups).

  • Definitive Investment: Heat, gasoline, and moisture resistant materials make it a component that will last the life of your motorcycle.

Compatibility guaranteed for:

  • Ducati Hypermotard 821 (Standard, SP, Hyperstrada – All models)

  • Ducati Hypermotard 939 (Standard, SP, Hyperstrada – All models)

Entrust your Ducati's aspirations to those who master performance. Choose 2G Engineering.

So, I fitted this filter housing yesterday. It's not exactly cheap for a piece of 3D-printed plastic, but it costs about one-fifth or one-tenth of the price of an exhaust system that doesn't really do much apart from making more noise, because the stock exhaust system is lightweight and very well designed.

My bike is a 2019 Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP with 29,000 km on the clock. It is fitted with an eFlexFuel unit so it can run on ethanol. Everything else is completely stock: the catalytic converter and the exhaust.

I rode 60 km this morning, and here are my conclusions.

With a small amount of throttle when exiting slow corners, the bike feels smoother and more responsive. There is less need to smooth out the throttle response with the clutch in order to ride efficiently and cleanly. The bike isn't more powerful down low — quite the opposite — but the power delivery is smoother and more linear.

Around 3,000 rpm, you start to feel the engine filling out, and around 3,500–4,000 rpm, it really comes alive. The bike catapults forward with noticeably more torque and reaches the redline much more quickly.

I believe the advertised 3 horsepower are definitely there, possibly even a little more. You notice it especially because you reach the rev limiter much faster than before.

The engine feels more free-revving and less inert throughout the entire rev range. The sound also changes slightly at wide-open throttle from the mid-range upwards.

Is it worth it? Absolutely, without a doubt.

In my opinion, without remapping the ECU, the best setup is the Intake Device 2 Engineering combined with the stock catalytic converter and stock exhaust.

Forget the Akrapovičs, Termignonis and other €1,500–€2,000 exhaust systems. This cover and filter will make you very happy for a fraction of the price, while allowing you to ride completely legally.

Made of excellent materials, the bike is finally more responsive at low revs, the power delivery is linear and there is no longer the annoying on/off.

Thanks to this solution from 2G Engineering the motorbike is as it should be.

Thanks to Gioele Goldoni for his expertise, speed, availability, and professionalism.

Very happy, fast delivery, 4days to UK.
Excellent fit – used in conjunction with the sprint filter P08, gives sharp throttle response, noticeable increased torque. Glad I made the investment 👍
