Why replace the stock paper air filter
The Desert X's stock filter is made of paper: over the miles it clogs, loses permeability and has to be replaced at every service. The 2G Engineering filter uses polyester fabric: it flows more air, traps dirt and is cleaned with compressed air, with no oil. Buy it once and it lasts a lifetime.
What a performance filter can and can't do
A freer-flowing filter improves airflow, but on the Desert X the real limit is the small air inlet in the stock airbox lid. If your goal is to get rid of jerking and snatchy throttle at low rpm, pair the filter with the 2G enlarged airbox lid: together they make up our complete intake kit, which delivered about +4 hp and +6 Nm between 3,000 and 5,500 rpm on the dyno without a remap.

The filter has the same dimensions as the stock Ducati filter: it fits in the standard airbox or with the 2G enlarged airbox lid, with no modifications. It's designed and made in Soliera (Modena), in the heart of Italy's Motor Valley.
