Why replace the stock paper air filter
The stock filter on the Scrambler 1100 (Ducati part number 42610491A) is made of paper: over the miles it clogs, loses permeability and has to be replaced at services. The 2G Engineering filter is made of polyester fabric: it lets more air through, traps dirt and is cleaned with a blast of compressed air, no oil needed. Buy it once and it lasts a lifetime.
What a performance filter can and can't do
A more permeable filter improves airflow and, unlike paper, does not lose efficiency over the miles: you just clean it. On its own, though, it will not transform the character of the engine: without changes to the intake or the mapping, the power gain is small. The real benefit is a filter that breathes better than the stock one, that you never have to buy again and that you can remove at any time.
The solution: 2G Engineering G-054 air filter
The panel filter has the same shape and the same size as the stock Ducati 42610491A filter: its sealing edge closes the original airbox just like the stock filter, with no modifications. It is designed and made in Soliera (Modena), in the heart of the Motor Valley.
What changes
- More airflow: the polyester fabric is more permeable than the stock filter's paper.
- Lasts a lifetime: it's not a service part to replace: just clean it and refit it.
