In short
- What it is: the 2G Engineering enlarged airbox lid for Ducati Panigale V2 and V2 S 890, built from 2025 onwards. Air filter not included: use it with the filter you already have.
- What it fixes: rough low-rpm throttle response and missing mid-range torque.
- Dyno-tested result: about +4 hp and +6–7 Nm between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm, with the stock ECU and no remap.
- Plug & Play and reversible: it fits the stock airbox with no cutting or drilling.
Throttle response and mid-range torque on the Panigale V2 890: where the limit comes from
The new Panigale V2's 890 cc V2 twin needs to breathe, but the stock airbox has a very small air inlet. The result is a less smooth throttle response at low rpm and lower torque right where you use it most on corner exit: on the dyno the difference shows between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm.
More air, protected filter
Letting more air in shouldn't mean exposing the filter to water, dust and debris. Our lid enlarges the air inlet with a geometry designed to keep the filter shielded, with the reliability of the stock system.

The solution: 2G Engineering enlarged airbox lid
The lid replaces the stock one and enlarges the air inlet. It keeps the original mounts for the panels and control units, and works with the filter you already have: the filter housing has the same dimensions as the original, so the stock filter and any OEM-size performance filter will fit. Every lid is designed and made in Soliera (Modena), in the heart of Italy's Motor Valley, from carbon-fiber-reinforced PPA.
What changes on the road
- Smoother throttle response: throttle response becomes more progressive at low rpm, out of slow corners and around town.
- More torque without a remap: about +4 hp and +6–7 Nm between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm measured on the dyno with the stock ECU. Peak power changes only slightly.
- Intake sound: deeper and fuller, especially from the mid-range up.
- Keep the filter you already have: it works with the stock paper filter and with any OEM-size performance filter.

The chart compares a stock Panigale V2 890 with the same bike fitted with the 2G intake system, without a remap: torque is higher from low rpm up to about 6,000 rpm, while peak power changes only slightly.

Frequently asked questions
Is the air filter included?
No. This version contains only the enlarged airbox lid: you use it with the filter you already have. If you also need a filter, choose the kit with the Sprint Filter.
Which filters can I use?
Any filter with the original dimensions: the stock paper filter and OEM-size performance filters.
Do I need to remap the ECU?
No. The lid is designed to work with the stock Panigale V2 ECU: the quoted gains (about +4 hp and +6–7 Nm) were measured without a remap.
Is the filter still protected from water and dirt?
Yes. The lid enlarges the air inlet with a geometry designed to keep the filter shielded from water, dust and debris, just like the stock system.
Does it fit the Panigale V2 S?
Yes: it fits the Panigale V2 and V2 S 890 built from 2025 onwards.
Does it also fit the Streetfighter V2 or Multistrada V2?
No. They share the engine but have a slightly different airbox: this lid is specific to the Panigale V2.
Can I return the bike to stock?
Yes. No cutting or drilling is needed: just refit the stock lid.
How long does it take to fit?
About one hour, with no modifications to the bike.
How long does shipping take?
All kits are in stock and ship within 24 hours, worldwide. You have 15 days from delivery to return the product if you're not satisfied.
